As of April 2008, I've built about 22 Darlings. So far, they are either the original capacitor coupled 8532/1626 design, or my own 12SL7/1626 version similar to Johannes LeBong's. Everyone loves the Darling !
more than 40 years experience into "glass"... Together with my collegue Stacey working on amps and other things. As an German expat I live in China since 1998. Tubes becoming respected here.
I am a young female electron engineer and have already built more than 15 tube amplifiers for fun and leaning understanding vacuum tubes. I think, joining the darling club, I can exchange knowledge and have fun.

Getting ready to build a cap-coupled SE Darling amp with a 12x4 rectifier tube and the voltage smoothed with with Angela Instruments oil-filled filter capacitors and a filter choke. Will use the 8532 input tubes. This is August 2007.
1626 is a splendid vacuum tube.
It is thanks in U.S.A. which made such a splendid vacuum tube before higher than 50 years.
